How pricing works

Hello everyone, this is Brad Standefer from Standefer Farms. For our first-time buyers, we want to provide some detailed information about the cost and quantity of beef you can expect

Understanding Pricing

Pricing live beef isn't an exact science, but we can offer some approximations to help you. Our cattle typically have a live weight of around 1,000 pounds, which results in a hanging weight of anywhere between 500 to 620 pounds. You will be charged based on the hanging weight of the animal.

Deposits and Additional Costs

We require a deposit of $100 for a half animal and $200 for a whole animal. Additionally, there is the cost of slaughter, which will be added to your total.

Finalizing Your Purchase

Once the hanging weight is determined, a representative from Standefer Farms will contact you to provide the total cost of your purchase. At this time, we will collect the remaining payment and arrange for the transportation of your beef to your chosen processor.

Processing Youre Beef

At the processing facility, the processor will review the cut sheet with you. They will then process, vacuum seal, and flash freeze your beef. We can work with any local processor you prefer. If you need recommendations, we are happy to suggest trusted processors. Thank you for choosing Standefer Farms.

Thank you for choosing Standefer Farms. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

THE GRASS FED BENEFITS
What is CLA?

CLA, or conjugated linoleic acid, is a type of fatty acid that is naturally present in grass-fed beef. It is a group of isomers of linoleic acid, which is an essential omega-6 fatty acid. Grass-fed beef is known to have higher levels of CLA compared to beef from conventionally raised, grain-fed cattle. Studies suggest that CLA may offer various health benefits, including potential anti-cancer properties, improved weight management, and cardiovascular health

Support. Some research indicates that CLA may play a role in reducing body fat and increasing lean muscle mass. Additionally, CLA has been associated with anti-inflammatory effects and may contribute to better insulin sensitivity. It&aposs important to note that while there is some evidence supporting the potential health benefits of CLA, more research is needed to fully

Understand its mechanisms and effects. Nevertheless, choosing grass-fed beef as a source of CLA can be seen as part of a broader effort to consume meat with a healthier fatty acid profile, including higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and a more balanced ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids.

Cancer

Studies show that as little as 0.5 percent CLA in your diet could reduce tumors by over 50%, Including the following types of cancer: Breast, Colorectal, Lung, Skin, and Stomach.

Asthma

Individuals get asthma when they produce much higher levels of leukotrienes. Leukotrienes are produced when the enzyme 5-lipoxygenase (5-lipox) acts on a particular fat called arachidonic acid (AA). CLA helps fight 5-lipox and AA inflammation without harming your arteries. CLA does this by converting inside your body to both DHA and EPA, both of which have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

Insulin resistance

CLA’s actions mimic the effect of synthetic diabetic drugs. Testing on mice with type 2 diabetes has shown CLA to improve insulin action and reduce circulating glucose. Even better, the early results from human trials are just as positive when consuming CLA for longer than eight weeks.

Cardiovascular disease

Grass-fed beef stands out as a superior alternative for individuals concerned about cardiovascular health due to its unique nutritional profile. Unlike conventionally raised, grain-fed counterparts, grass-fed beef tends to be leaner and richer in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids play a crucial role in reducing inflammation and improving blood vessel function, which are key factors in preventing cardiovascular diseases.

The lower overall fat content in grass-fed beef also translates to a healthier balance of saturated and unsaturated fats, contributing to better cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis. Moreover, grass-fed beef is a notable source of antioxidants, including vitamins such as A and E, which further support cardiovascular well-being by neutralizing free radicals that can contribute to oxidative stress.

cafo mean and nasty

CAFO: A concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO), as defined by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is an animal feeding operation(AFO)—a farm in which animals are raised in confinement.

CAFO diet primarily consists of grains, corn, and soy. CAFO beef is high in omega-6s, a polyunsaturated fat brought on by stress in the animal’s environment. Which can cause inflammation. CAFO beef uses antibiotics not only to fight infection, but to promote unhealthy weight gain. Growth hormones are used to speed up the growth process. Which totally lowers CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)
